Class Descriptions

Defensive Performance Handgun
This class is founded in the realization that, while many classes offer defensive-focused or performance-focused pistol curriculum, very few combine the concepts of defensive and performance shooting in a way that is digestible to the normal concealed carry civilian.
To that end, I developed this curriculum to clarify why high-level mechanical shooting skills are not only the foundation of competency but a minimum standard prerequisite for the responsible citizen who chooses to carry a gun. The bad guys do this for a living too, we should never assume every criminal or perpetrator isn’t as skilled as we are. Your life, or the lives of those you love, may depend on it.

We will cover the foundations of the shooting process including grip, sights, trigger control, stance, and structure. The class will focus on expanding your competency and confidence in your skill set, and refining your equipment. We will discuss the legal, mental, and philosophical backing for concealed carry as well as the psychological mechanisms which better prepare us for potentially lethal defensive engagements. My goal is to prepare your mechanical skill set and enhance your mental process, measured against the situations that you may encounter as a civilian in a defensive role.
This class is not a “beginner” class, but there is a wide range of skill levels that would benefit from it. If you can safely carry, manage your muzzle, draw and reholster, or shoot at a C-class USPSA level you are ready for this class.
This class is focused on concealed carry, as such you will need to bring the gun and equipment you intend to carry. Please do not show up to class with a battle belt/duty rig, even if you work in that equipment. Please use a quality concealed carry holster in the appendix or hip carry positions. Also, please do not bring a micro-compact pistol that holds less than 10 rounds as you will struggle to keep up with the round count of the drills given your smaller magazine capacity.
Required equipment
Concealed carry Holster (IWB 3-5 o'clock or AIWB)
Concealed carry/Service Pistol in .380 or larger (9mm-45acp)
Minimum of 3 magazines
800 rounds of training ammo minimum, 1 magazine of your carry ammo

Performance Duty Handgun
The Duty based curriculum maintains all the performance-based shooting tools, but shifts the role of the end user to the LEO perspective, heightening the level of accountability. This course is by request for LE agencies. Range liability rules may disallow non-credentialed civilians from attending.

All requirements for shooters remain the same other than equipment.

Defensive Performance Carbine
Defensive Performance Carbine is designed to illustrate the techniques, equipment and training to best implement a rifle as a duty or defensive tool. We will cover stance and body mechanics, rifle connection, trigger process and visual connection. We will also discuss hard mechanical zeroing options, process focused training mechanics, and equipment/accessories in terms of rifle setup. We will discuss fulfilling your roles requirements through rifle and equipment selection as well as the understanding of quality considerations in brands, materials and manufacturing.

The shooting mechanics of this class are designed to be challenging and force you to your failure point. Students should have a rock solid understanding of safety, weapons manipulation and handling.
